Technical Arts Ministry

Looking at our culture today, the dominant forms of communications are television, movies, internet, and music. They all play vital and integral roles in our society. The blending of images and music can sometimes resonate in our soul in deeper ways than even the finest words.

The church has the awesome responsibility of taking the message of Christ to all nations. As we accomplish this great commission, we must take advantage of all tools available to us that will communicate more effectively and in a way that is relevant to our society.

The world is our competition for the un-churched person’s time and attention which means we must keep raising the bar of excellence in how we present our message not only to our congregation but also to our community and the rest of the world.

Our FCCO Technical Arts Teams are responsible for:

*            The high quality sound in the auditorium and stage.  Our trained staff enhances the worship team’s ability to provide musical excellence.

*            The theatrical lighting and stage renovations have provided the tools necessary for excellence in our drama productions and special events.

*            The message being spread outside these walls through over two thousand CD’s and eight hundred DVD’s annually.

*            Spreading our message throughout our community and beyond by producing cable television spots.  This has been a blessing to shut-ins, increased awareness of who we are as a church, and has added to our attendance.

*            The operation of the atrium and foyers’ television kiosks allows announcements to be presented in a high impact way while not taking away from the worship service.

*            Sending a live video feed to the Family Café in the atrium and lower foyer. This allows us to accommodate overflow as needed and gives families with active children a place to go, when needed, without missing the service.

*            Auditorium I-mag, as needed; allows us to project the service on the screens such as for children’s programs, interviews, women’s breakfast, etc

*            Producing high impact video shorts for the service.  These powerful methods of telling stories have influenced people's lives more effectively than most any other means of communication known to man.  We are using video regularly in our services, engaging the hearts of our congregation to see close up the needs and accomplishments of our various ministries.

*            Internet connectivity; today’s technology has allowed live interaction with our missions via webcams during the services and sender’s groups classes.

*            Internet audio/video, downloadable or streaming from our website.  Takes our message beyond our community giving it a global reach.  Not only is this a valuable tool to our community but our mission fields have found it to be a great resource.

*            Growing the technical tools and staff to support children, youth and adult ministries.

Running this ministry as designed, requires twelve positions to cover each service.  Staffed by one full time director and one part-time administrative assistant.

The work requires a pool of forty-five volunteers who are willing to commit to two Sundays a month, some Thursdays and participate in our ongoing training programs.
