Our Spiritual Markers ...

Grace

Each of us was created to know God and enjoy Him forever.  But sin has separated all of us from the relationship God intends for us.  Christ's work on the cross enables us to be forgiven and to gain acceptance as a child of God.  It is important that as we experience God's grace ourselves, we share the good news of this grace with others.  (Eph. 2:8-9)

Community

A driving question for all of us is the question of belonging,  "Who will be there for me?"    God has called us into a community of believers -- brothers and sisters united together through Christ, with an amazing diversity of gifts and experiences.  We are to care for, encourage, and challenge each other to grow in  Christ-centered relationships whose primary characteristic is love.  (Ecc. 4:9-10)

Holiness

Holiness is choosing what is good based on God's Word and the Spirit's power.  As God's people we are called to live lives of self control, integrity and moral purity.   We are to be different than the world ("salt and light").   There is great blessing and freedom in a life of obedience.   (1 Peter 1:15)

Service

God created us with a need for purpose, a desire to do something with our lives.    This purpose is found not in serving ourselves, but in serving God and other people with our time, spiritual gifts, and financial resources.  Service is putting love into action.  As we understand God's heart of compassion, we will seek opportunities to especially serve the hungry, the sick, the stranger, and the prisoner. (Mt. 20:26-28)
