CloseThey’re called “nones.” When asked about religious beliefs, about 28 percent of today’s young adults say they’re atheists, agnostics, or “nothing in particular.” “Nones” distrust religious institutions and say they’ve had negative experiences with religious people. Tragically, most “nones” grew up in Christian homes, but they’ve chosen to disconnect from church and their parents’ faith. Today, from Deuteronomy 6, the Lord will call us to teach and train our kids to love, fear, and obey Him. And it starts with us as parents, grandparents, and all who influence a child’s life. In addition to imparting knowledge about God, we’re to model a faith that is authentic, sincere, and grateful for God’s goodness. And may the Lord use us in bringing the “nones” in our lives back to Him.
