Sermon: “Flooded By Joy” from Marc Swenson

A sermon from the series “Joyride: A Study of Philippians.” Imprisoned. Hungry. Cold. Lonely. How would you respond to those circumstances? Would your attitude be one of defeat, frustration, anger? When the Apostle Paul penned the words of Philippians he wrote from a Roman jail. And the theme that reverberates throughout his entire book is JOY! How can we find joy when the circumstances of our life are not to our liking? This Sunday we begin a study in Philippians called, JOYRIDE. Over the course of the next 9 weeks we will find that joy is possible in any and every situation. Join us Sunday as we begin our journey!

Sermon: “Ready For His Return” from Dan Mitchum

A sermon from the series “Walking With Jesus.” As Jesus ascended into heaven following His resurrection, the angels asked the disciples, “Why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven” [Acts 1:11]. That was more than 2,000 years ago, and we still await the return of our Lord. When He will return, we do not know. But we do know How we’re to live while we wait. Jesus will tell us how to be ready for His return. Join us as we conclude our Walking With Jesus sermon series.

Sermon: “Ministering Like Jesus” from Marc Swenson

A sermon from the series “Walking With Jesus.” The grace of Jesus is scandalous. It repulsed the religious of his day and surprised the sinners. His is an upside-down kingdom where those who think they belong miss it altogether, and those who question if they ever could enter, find a seat at the table. Jesus did not come for the healthy, but the sick; he did not come for the righteous, but sinners. Join us Sunday as we learn to engage with those Jesus ministered to and literally make room at the table for them to join in.

Sermon: “Staying Pure in an Impure World” from Dan Mitchum

A sermon from the series “Walking With Jesus.” The Berkeley Pit is a former open-pit copper mine in Butte, Montana. It’s so deep it could easily hold an eighty-story skyscraper. It’s beautiful, but it has one major problem. It’s full of toxic water. All 26 billion gallons are laden with heavy metals and dangerous chemicals leaching from the rock.

There’s a mist and a fog that sometimes rises from the lake, leaving nearby residents to wonder what will happen to them if they breathe the toxic air. And they wonder how far the deadly sediment has seeped into the soil of the surrounding areas.

We’re living in a contaminated culture. Our world has lost its way and, in rejecting God, has become a dangerous and immoral place. So, how are we, as followers of Jesus, to keep ourselves clean? How can we stay spiritually healthy so we can continue to serve God and share the Good News with those around us?

Jesus will teach us how to stay pure in an impure world. Please join us as we study God’s Word together.

Sermon: “Loving Like Jesus” from Dan Mitchum

A sermon from the series “Walking With Jesus.” Last week we started a new sermon series in which we’re learning to walk like Jesus. Jesus told us, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” [Matthew 6:24]. Tomorrow, Jesus will command us to do something we can only do through His strength and power. “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you” [Luke 6:27-28].
Do you have any enemies? Loving them may be the last thing you want to do. But that’s what it takes to walk with Jesus.
Join us tomorrow for the continuation of this series in which we’re hearing directly from our Lord Jesus.

Sermon: “Carrying Our Cross Like Jesus” from Marc Swenson

A sermon from the series “Walking With Jesus.” This Sunday we begin a new sermon series on discipleship called Walking with Jesus. We’ll look at Mark 8 where Jesus says, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” In the classic book, The Cost of Discipleship, Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote, “When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.” Though this statement seems radical, it has always been the essence of what it means to follow Jesus. Join us as we focus on discipleship according to Jesus!

Sermon: “Why Do We Exist?” from Jonathan (Global Partner)

A sermon from the series “Why Do We Exist?.” Sunday, Jonathan and Monica will be with us. They’re our global partners serving in Eurasia. Jonathan will be preaching on the theme, “Why Do We Exist: God’s Purpose in Creating Us.” This will be an excellent follow-up to our series on Ecclesiastes! Sermon: “The End of the Matter” from Dan Mitchum

A sermon from the series “Ecclesiastes: The Secret of Life.” There’s a story about a woman going through airport security. Before passing through the full-body scanner, the TSA agent asked if she had anything in her pockets.
She answered, “Yes, in one of my pockets, I have a plumb line, a measuring rod, a hammer, bread, water, a compass, a mirror, a sword, and my ID card.”
The security agent scoffed. “There’s no way you could get all that into one pocket!”
She then pulled her Bible from her pocket.

Over the past few months, we’ve discovered that Ecclesiastes is an amazing book. And that shouldn’t surprise us as it is the Bible—the Word of God. It’s given us priceless guidance for today and hope for the future.

The Teacher set out to find the secret of life. He finally found it. Tomorrow he’ll tell us what it is.

Sermon: “Remember Your Creator” from Joel Gill

A sermon from the series “Ecclesiastes: The Secret of Life.” A famous quote says, “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” But is that all there is to life, inspirational moments that are here and then gone? For many, whether they live 75, 85, 95 years or more, they pursue moments like this and miss the whole purpose of their lives. We will look at Ecclesiastes 11:7-12:8 and hear from Solomon that life is more than just searching for the next moment to take our breath away. Come discover why you were created and what truly gives your life purpose.

Sermon: “Invest Boldly and Give Generously” from Dan Mitchum

A sermon from the series “Ecclesiastes: The Secret of Life.” After launching Apple Computer in 1976, co-founder Ron Wayne made what turned out to be the costliest cash-out of his life. Twelve days after joining Apple for a 10 percent stake in the startup, he sold it for $800. Not a bad short-term profit at the time, but if he owned that Apple stock today, it would be worth over $200 billion.

In the 1970s, Ross Perot passed on an offer to buy Microsoft. Perot was convinced the company wasn’t worth the 60-million-dollar purchase price. He was wrong. Had he bought, his holding today would be worth around $750 billion.

Tomorrow, from Ecclesiastes 11:1-6, Solomon will teach us the secrets of investing in the kingdom of God. He’ll urge us to give generously to the only investment that can never fail. Why? Because God is the one who guarantees everything given to the work of the gospel will bear dividends beyond our wildest dreams.
