Sermon: “Praying Dependently” from Dan Mitchum

Dan Mitchum - March 30, 2025

Growing Together & Healing Brokenness

The wisest man who ever lived said, “Two people are better than one, because they get more done by working together. If one falls down, the other can help him up. But pity the person who is alone and falls, because no one is there to help. [Ecclesiastes 4:9-10] Solomon’s words are as true today as they were thousands of years ago. God created us to live together in Christian community. As we “do life” together, we love, teach, admonish, and pray for one another. We help one another grow in Christ. And it is in authentic Christian community that God heals us from the brokenness in our lives. Join us as we focus on the values of growing together and healing brokenness.

From Series: "Values"

At FCCO, we’re committed to seven core values. Values describe who we are and who we want to be. They are deeply held beliefs that guide our decisions and life together. They are: Glorifying Jesus, praying dependently, living biblically, growing together, healing brokenness, reaching out, and serving generously. We’ll spend five Sundays unpacking these values.
