Sermon: “Praying Dependently” from Dan Mitchum

Dan Mitchum - November 30, 2025

The Disciples' Prayer

If you could ask Jesus for one thing this Advent season, what would it be? To show you how to walk on water? To give you the ability to raise people from the dead? The disciples once asked Jesus for something, but it wasn’t how to perform miracles. The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. Why? Because they had seen and heard Jesus pray. They saw how it strengthened and empowered Him. But, most of all, they knew prayer was the key to Jesus’ relationship with His Father in heaven. And they wanted to know God as Jesus did. So, Jesus was more than happy to teach them to pray. And, today, He’ll teach us too.
