Sermon: “Reaching Out” from Marc Swenson

Dan Mitchum - March 23, 2025

Serving Generously

Have you heard of the Pareto Principle? It’s also called the 80/20 Rule. It suggests that about 20 percent of workers do 80 percent of the work in a typical organization. Thankfully, that principle doesn’t hold true at FCCO. Not even close. Currently, 314 of us are actively serving Christ and His church! And there’s still room for all of us to serve generously. Today is Volunteer Appreciation Sunday. Serving generously is one of our core values. Why is this so important to us? Because having received every spiritual blessing in Christ, we delight in sharing our spiritual gifts, finances, time, and energies to build up the church and care for those around us. Join us as we celebrate FCCO’s 314 faithful servants. And come prepared to be challenged by God’s Word. What’s your next step? Ask the Lord to reveal that to you this morning.

From Series: "Values"

At FCCO, we’re committed to seven core values. Values describe who we are and who we want to be. They are deeply held beliefs that guide our decisions and life together. They are: Glorifying Jesus, praying dependently, living biblically, growing together, healing brokenness, reaching out, and serving generously. We’ll spend five Sundays unpacking these values.
