If Only?!
Jesus once had a dear friend named Lazarus. One day Lazarus’ sisters sent word to Jesus that Lazarus was sick. Instead of rushing to visit Lazarus, Jesus took His time. When He arrived, Lazarus had been dead four days. When Lazarus’ sister, Martha, saw Jesus, she said, “Lord, if only you had been here my brother would not have died!” If only. That’s a universal question we ask in the face of death and difficulties of various kinds. Jim Olson, from the Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation, will unpack Jesus’ response to Martha and Mary. You’ll be encouraged and reassured that, while we don’t always understand God’s ways, He is always with us and He has a plan and good purpose for everything.
Scripture References: John 11:1-44
