George Bowling
George Bowling and his wife Mary Beth have lived in the Lakes Region for almost 33 years. Thirty-two of those years, George served on the year-round staff of Camps Brookwoods and Deer Run as the Conference Director throughout the year and Trip Director every summer. Recently, after retiring from Brookwoods, he and Mary Beth have moved to Wolfeboro. George grew up in a strong, loving Catholic family, but became a true follower of Jesus in his late twenties. He loved being a member of the Brookwoods staff where he had the opportunity to work with teens and young adults, leading them in the outdoors and mentoring them in long-lasting relationships. One of his life verses is Micah 6:8, “He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” The Bowlings have two girls, Tennessee, 26 and Savannah 25. George and his family love the outdoors, biking, canoeing, camping, fishing, and hiking.
