Sermon: “Hope is With Us” from Dan Mitchum

Dan Mitchum - December 1, 2024

Hope is With Us

What is hope? In America, hope often means wishful thinking and positivity. And while that’s not all bad, much of what people hope for is based on fantasy, not reality. For believers, our hope is in Jesus—and He gives us a hope that does not disappoint us [Romans 5:5]. As we begin this Advent Season, we’ll cling to the hope we have in Christ. He gives us hope for the future—and fuel for the present. Join us as we celebrate His arrival and anticipate His second coming.

Scripture References: Luke 1:26-38, Luke 24:13-27

For the next 25 days, most of the world will focus on Christmas. For many, this festive season brings out the best in us. But why? Is it simply the lights, gifts, trees, and dinner parties that make us happy? Or could it be that the little baby born in a manger is present with us in a special way throughout this season, whether we’re aware of Him or not? For the next four weeks, we will remind one another that Hope is with us, Peace is with us, Joy is with us, Love is with us… Emmanuel is with us. Join us and invite others to join us as we discover why this truly is the most wonderful time of the year!
