Next Message: Who Is a God Like You?

Dan Mitchum - July 28, 2024

Sunday, we conclude our study of Micah. His 41 years of preaching have ended. He’s about to step down from his prophetic pulpit and enter retirement. But he has one last message to deliver. It isn’t to God’s people. It’s a message to God Himself. Micah offers the Lord what’s been called a psalm of prayer and praise. After all has been said and done, Micah asks, “Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy” [Micah 7:18]. Join us as we celebrate the compassion and mercy God poured upon Micah—and us.

How to Have a Blessed New Year

There are 150 Psalms in the Bible. Scholars agree that Psalm 1 is an introductory Psalm to the entire collection. It’s especially interesting, then, that Psalm 1 begins with the words, “Blessed is the man…." You’d think the first words might have been, “Obedient is the man…” or “Righteous is the man….” It’s awesome that God’s great desire is to bless us! But what does it mean to be blessed? Blessedness describes the life of happiness, delight, and fruitfulness that comes to those who walk in God’s ways. Tomorrow we’ll begin 2023 by learning how Psalm 1 teaches us how to have a blessed New Year!

Scripture References: Psalms 1:1-6
