Sermon: “Praying Dependently” from Dan Mitchum

Dan Mitchum - April 6, 2025

Praying Dependently

Having a consistent prayer life can be a struggle. We tell ourselves, “Strong Christians pray a lot. If I were a stronger Christian, I’d pray more.” Strong Christians do pray more, but they pray more because they realize their weakness. Prayer isn’t for those who think—or pretend—they have it all together. Prayer is for those who realize how dependent they are on the Lord.

From Series: "Values"

At FCCO, we’re committed to seven core values. Values describe who we are and who we want to be. They are deeply held beliefs that guide our decisions and life together. They are: Glorifying Jesus, praying dependently, living biblically, growing together, healing brokenness, reaching out, and serving generously. We’ll spend five Sundays unpacking these values.
