Sermon: “The Power of the Holy Spirit – Part 2” from Dan Mitchum

The Power of the Holy Spirit - Part 2

There’s no question that Jesus’ disciples received the greatest ministry education and training of all time. Jesus personally tutored them. They had front-row seats to Jesus’ teachings and miracles. Christ Himself coached them 24/7 for over three years. After all that, you’d think they’d be more than prepared to do amazing things for God. But Jesus told them not to make a move until the Holy Spirit empowered them. Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” [Acts 1:8] Like them, we are utterly powerless for life and ministry without the Holy Spirit. Join us as we plug into the incredible power of the Holy Spirit.

From Series: "The Holy Spirit"

Many Christians throughout the ages have struggled to understand the person and work of the Holy Spirit. Our attention often focuses on God the Father and Christ the Son. But as the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit is also deserving of our praise, worship, and obedience. Our prayer for this new sermon series is that we won’t just gain a biblical understanding of the Spirit—we also want to experience Him in a fresh way. Throughout this eleven-week series, we’ll explore the person and power of the Spirit, His role as our sanctifier and teacher, the fruit and gifts of the Spirit, what it means to grieve and quench the Spirit, how to keep in step with Him, and more. Please join us for this life-changing series.
