The Just Judge
What words can you use to describe Jesus? Gentle, loving, lowly, tender, humble, selfless, and sacrificial are just a few that capture the beauty and grace of our Savior. Another attribute to add to this list is judge. The day is coming when Jesus will reward His followers and punish those who willfully rebel against Him. 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12 describes that day. The sweet baby boy born in Bethlehem will return to earth in blazing fire with His mighty angels. What will happen to those who defied Him? They will experience total and final separation from God. Paul will tell us and help us understand why our loving Savior would issue such a devastating sentence, and what it means for us today.
