Next Message: Motherhood Matters
Dan Mitchum - May 12, 2024
Moms don’t want to sleep like babies—they want to sleep like dads! That statement is funny because it’s all too true. Mothers go way above and beyond to care for their children. They selflessly put the needs of their family before their own. But who cares for moms? Who lifts them and encourages them? Yes, children and husbands are to appreciate her, but the Lord is the first to affirm and bless mothers. Tomorrow, we’ll see how much God delights in the sacrificial love moms pour upon their children.

The Light of Joy
The Bible tells us to “Always be joyful” [1 Thessalonians 5:16]. Really? Always? We’re to rejoice even when inflation is at 7.7 percent? Yes, be joyful. Even when it seems our country is hopelessly divided politically and morally? Yes, be joyful. Even when we personally experience trials and tribulations? Yes, be joyful even then. Why? Because joy isn’t dependent upon our circumstances. Our joy is in the Lord. We’ll celebrate the joy we have in Jesus. He alone fills us with “an inexpressible and glorious joy” [1 Peter 1:8b] that transcends all of our earthly troubles.
Scripture References: 1 Peter 1:3-9
