Sermon: “The Holy Spirit: Our Sanctifier and Teacher” from Marc Swenson

Dan Mitchum - October 20, 2024

The Gifts of the Spirit

You are gifted. If you believe in Jesus Christ, you have received one or more spiritual gifts. And they haven’t been chosen at random. God specifically and intentionally selected gifts He wants you to have. What is your gift? Is it wisdom, discernment, leadership, service, mercy, or one of the other 20 gifts in the New Testament? We’ll gain an understanding of the gifts and why FCCO needs you and your gift to be a healthy and effective body of Christ.

Scripture References: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

From Series: "The Holy Spirit"

Many Christians throughout the ages have struggled to understand the person and work of the Holy Spirit. Our attention often focuses on God the Father and Christ the Son. But as the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit is also deserving of our praise, worship, and obedience. Our prayer for this new sermon series is that we won’t just gain a biblical understanding of the Spirit—we also want to experience Him in a fresh way. Throughout this eleven-week series, we’ll explore the person and power of the Spirit, His role as our sanctifier and teacher, the fruit and gifts of the Spirit, what it means to grieve and quench the Spirit, how to keep in step with Him, and more. Please join us for this life-changing series.
