Sermon: “The Holy Spirit: Our Sanctifier and Teacher” from Marc Swenson

Marc Swenson - November 10, 2024

Walk in Step with the Spirit

In Johnny Cash’s song, I Walk the Line, he wrote about staying true to his wife. The last verse says, “As sure as night is dark and day is long. I keep you on my mind both day and night. And happiness proves that I am right. Because you’re mine I walk the line.” I wonder if in our love for the Lord, we could sing the same lyric to Him by replacing the last phrase with “Because I’m yours I walk the line.” Join us as we learn how to “keep in step with the Spirit” out of love for all he has done for us. We hope to see you there!

Scripture References: Galatians 5:13-26

From Series: "The Holy Spirit"

Many Christians throughout the ages have struggled to understand the person and work of the Holy Spirit. Our attention often focuses on God the Father and Christ the Son. But as the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit is also deserving of our praise, worship, and obedience. Our prayer for this new sermon series is that we won’t just gain a biblical understanding of the Spirit—we also want to experience Him in a fresh way. Throughout this eleven-week series, we’ll explore the person and power of the Spirit, His role as our sanctifier and teacher, the fruit and gifts of the Spirit, what it means to grieve and quench the Spirit, how to keep in step with Him, and more. Please join us for this life-changing series.
