On Judging

“Do not judge,” Jesus said, “or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” [Matthew 7:1-2] Why is it, then, that nearly nine out of ten young people today say the term “judgmental” accurately describes present-day Christianity? Tomorrow, we’ll take a close look at Jesus’ command. How can we avoid a critical and judgmental spirit? And is Jesus saying we should never make any judgments? We’ll learn when it’s wrong and when it’s right to judge.

Scripture References: Matthew 7:1-6

From Series: "The Sermon on the Mount"

“Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them saying...” [Matthew 5:1-2] What follows is the greatest sermon ever preached by the greatest preacher who ever lived. In it, Jesus teaches us what it means to follow Him as His fully devoted disciples. He teaches us about selflessness, humility, and what it means to seek God’s righteousness. He tells us how to live for Him in a fallen world. He gives us the Beatitudes to live by, and so much more. Join us for this transformative study of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.
