The Lure of Lust
Dan Mitchum - October 19, 2025

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus reverses the world’s value system. The poor are blessed, mourners find comfort, and the meek are honored. While this is a great source of encouragement, Jesus also says things that aren’t as easy to accept. For instance, He said harboring anger toward someone is akin to murder. And, if we look lustfully at another person, we’re committing adultery in our hearts. These are hard truths. But Jesus speaks these words to set us free from the prison of resentment and bitterness, and free from the pain of searching for love in superficial relationships. Join us as we hear the hard—but liberating—teaching of Jesus.

Anger Management
Anger is an emotion many of us experience. It creeps up when someone steals our parking space, smears our name, or hurts us in some way. We may become angry over a cultural issue or injustice in the world. Anger happens. But Jesus says anger is a serious issue that should not be taken lightly. In fact it often leads to God’s judgement. Why is Jesus so hard on the issue of anger? Is there ever a time for it? And what are we to do when it rears its ugly head? Join us as we take a deep dive into the topic of anger and learn about God’s heart for reconciliation.
